What are the five elements in Chinese Method

Chinese Method

The Chinese classified all phenomenon of universe into Five Elements.

  1. Wood( Solidity)
  2. Fire (Combustion, development of heat )
  3. Earth (Fertility)
  4. Metal ( Fusibility)
  5. Water ( Fluidity)

The Theory of five elements basically explain the interpromoting, interacting, overacting and counteracting relationship among them. They reflect a deep understanding of natural law,the universal order underlying all things in our world.

Two cyclic sequences, which are termed the Generative Cycle and Destructive Cycle.

  1. Sheng ” Cycle ( Generative Cycle)
  • Fire is fed by Wood
  • Ashes which form become Earth
  • Metal is formed in Earth
  • Water springs from Metal ( Fluidity arise from solid state )
  • Water nourishes tree which become Wood

2. “Ko” Cycle ( Destructive Cycle )

  • Fire melts Metal
  • Metal cut Wood
  • Wood cover Earth
  • Earth dams Water
